Hmmmm, is been quite a week for comestible delicacies so far and although our belts are feeling a little snugger for it all, for the purposes of education (???) Darrell and Nigel still managed to squeeze in a couple of Lidl heart shaped doughnuts for your consideration!
But, before you all rush out to see if they have any of the iced, sprinkled and drizzled delicacies left, we'd say hang fire ........
...... because, we are sad to emote that Nigel and Darrell were just a tad disappointed. Though said doughnuts promised much on the outside, inside, we have to say, they were to be found wanting.
Instead of being light, fluffy and airy, Darrell and Nigel unfortunately found the dough heavy and claggy, without any filling to lighten and take away from the stodge.
In all, rather uninspiring and disappointing, especially when we're trying to continue to embrace the romance in this month of l'amour for as long as we can.
However, waste not want not, it would have been rude not to finish them off, especially after Nigel had gone to all the trouble of bringing them back from Lidl. So, unfortunately, a disheartening and non celebratory 3 snuggly hugs out of 10 (mainly for the decoration) on our world famous Richter Scale of Noms, and, for now, we'll stick to Lidl toffee filled Yum Yums instead!

Ah, well, never mind. Rather disappointing, although I've never really been a fan of doughnuts, myself.
Give me plain Hobnobs or a chocolate brownie, any day of the week!
