Somewhat Pancake Bound

All I can say is, I'm glad Pancake Day only comes round once a year, because, after a day of doing our Shrove duty to the best of our ability, we're feeling not a little pancake bound! We started with a round (or two) of Scotch pancakes (shop bought) with an ample drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkling of blueberries,  followed by a medley of Bird's Eye Crispy Pancakes for lunch (mince beef, mozzarella, ham and mozzarella and tomato and mozzarella), served with a light, green salad.

Then, at around five thirty, Darrell decided it was finally time to brandish his faithful, old frying pan .......

....... to produce a final triumphal batch of "plain" pancakes, ably assisted by Nigel, amidst much unfettered and abandoned, joyous, seasonal tossing. Let's just say that after all these years Darrell has certainly perfected the art of the much mentioned pancake to culinary perfection!

And so to the table, served simply with a little dusting of sugar and an ample squirt of Jif lemon ..........

By the time we'd worked through the pile, poor Darrell and I could barely move, so it was left to the dear old little fella to do the honours ......... well, it would be rude  not too.

However, he then had be very carefully escorted to the sofa where we were warned not too touch him or bounce around too much for a little while, with the weak reassurance that he'd be OK in a bit!  What is he like?

You are making me feel hungry. Yet again! :)

Plenty of lemon juice here, but no Lyle's Golden Syrup, which is obligatory on pancakes, for me, as we always had it growing up.

Hence, no tossing for Mr. D!
