Is Hedgehog Back?

We haven't seen any hedgehog related graffiti for quite a while, after a worrying spate in the spring/summer, down by us and the railway line. However yesterday, so early in the new year, Nigel spotted a worrying sign, up in town, by the entrance to the library.

Let's just say his little heart sank, temporarily wilting his usual effervescent New Year spirit. Hopefully, fingers crossed, this will be the last of it. "They" might know "hedgehog", good for them, but why couldn't they just tell a few friends or perhaps engage the services of a local town crier, if, they wanted to broadcast it to a wider audience.

And, if we were being a tad picky .....

...... the nose is totally wrong! That sir, is not the nose of a hedgehog ........

......... but that of a pig!

What are we like?

Poor Nigel, getting deflated, like that. Like my bike tyres, every now and again.

I hope the graffito is cleaned off very soon, to discourage said "artist." As it happens, Mrs. D saw an exhibition by Banksy in Montreal, a few days ago.

A hedgehog with the nose of a pig? It sounds like some hybrid monstrosity - a hegdepig?

You are absolutely correct and I have seen enough hedgehogs in my garden to agree with you.

Both hedgehog and pig noses are beautiful. However I have to say I've never seen a hedgehog's nose up close as that even though, as Michelle, I get a lot of hogs in my garden can't say I've ever been that close to a hog to see their nostrils. (although not atm, they are all hibernating and I don't blame them!) Plenty of foxes visiting though. JantheFan x

It's deja vu, all over again. What's happening?
