Croeso I Rhyl

Nigel and Alice said that they thought that Rhyl would usually have a lot more pleasures to embrace, but not so much in the midst of winter, when they found that most of the usual seaside attractions had been put under wraps during their visit or were being done up, ready to re-open ready for Easter.

However, as they were there it would be rude not to have a cheeky mooch, imagining it all in the summer, when it would undoubtedly be a thousands times more busy.

They did find at least one seaside staple, and being February, the month of lurve, let's just say that 40p (20p each) was duly invested in "the Love Meter"

........ though neither is willing to divulge their exact results, what are they like? Though Nigel did hint his was on the rather "high" side!

After that they hit the typical, souvenir seaside shops, where it seemed that magnets, at this time of year were outselling buckets and spades by twenty to one, even Nigel, the ever fragrant Alice told me, couldn't be tempted to a morning of castle and moat making with shiny new tools!

I gather that a couple of much considered purchases were still made, though I have to admit to be slightly dreading what we'll actually be presented with to adorn The Tower's fridge .........

I'm praying that Alice's usual very demure and mindful taste will prevail over erm ...... bums ........!!!!!!

I hope Nigel's love isn't unrequited.

I'm pleased to see you are still enjoying yourselves, even if some things aren't open.

What about the arcade? Penny falls is obligatory,

Maybe they each bought a magnet for The Towers. That could be interesting.

Let’s hope the purchases were “tasteful”! Southport has a lot of visitor attractions that aren’t open yet so it must be a seaside thing.
