A New Type Of Stone To Collect For Our Very Own Chichibu Chinsekikan!

While the ever fragrant Alice is happy beachcombing for pieces of sea glass, as well as the odd holy stone for Darrell on Eric and her petit sojourn dans Devon  .........

....... Eric (formally known as Nigel) has a been looking for a very new kind of beach treasure, after reading a very interesting article on tin'ternet about "The Hall of Curious Rocks" (see links below)  ......

..... to wit stones that look like faces ......

.... and although it initially sounded like a very unlikely and potentially prolonged pursuit ....

...... according to a fascinated Alice, it didn't take all that long for the little fella to come up with his very first quarry, once he'd set his mind to the task ...... can you spot it?

Let's just say it was a very tangible and palpable emotional and jubilant moment ......

...... which was then quickly followed by another one, (again, can you spot it?).

Alice said that Eric was like a dog that had found two sticks, a bone and his tail ........ but there was one more, which almost proved to be too much for Eric as it was, he declared proudly, an absolute corker of which he couldn't stop shaking after he found it, so a picture was only gotten when they got back to their caravan. I have to agree, there's no mistaking what it looks like, with it's distinct proboscis and small, contented smile!

Darrell has also since become very much taken by the idea, so has decided that once he/we find the obligatory holey stone on whatever beach we happen to find ourselves on, it just has to be faces akimbo after that. Meanwhile he is working on an idea as to how to display our future collection to their full potential, just like the original Chichibu Chinsekikan ......... oh heaven help me!

Great finds, Nigel (Eric)!

The first one reminded me of Munch's The Scream.
