Drinking In A Little Of One Of Worcester's Most Ancient Hostelries.

While in Worcester Eric (formally known as Nigel) decided to stay over and ensconce himself in one of Worcester's most ancient hostelries .......

...... to wit The Farriers Arms, which dates back to the 1600's .......

....... which, he said was impossibly romantic .......

......... accept for the road cones, which did put a bit of a dampener on the lane, t
ucked very conveniently just a few yards away from the main high street

And inside? Well, Eric reckoned that the beams were so old ..........

...... they must have borne witness to an awful lot of historical things, the building being a Grade 2 listed building.......

..... which then got the little fella wondering what the odds were of said Arms being quite haunted!

Checking out the hospitality tray in his room distracted him for a while ........

...... but he decided, even though his room seemed cosy enough, having not detected any icily cold areas, he would still sleep with the bedside lamp on, just to be on the safe side.

The view from Eric's room was equally spectacular, looking across to the 15th century church of St Helen .....

...... but which in turn made him doubly sure that Fish Street, where both buildings were situated, had to be haunted, so again,
he was going to take the extra precaution of closing the window, firmly, even though Darrell always insists on letting a little fresh air into all our rooms before we retire, no matter where we are.

However, when Eric texted Darrell and I in the morning, he thankfully informed us that despite his fears, nothing had bumped, creaked, tapped or moaned in the night and all was well.  What on earth is he like?

It looks great. I hope you had success in the charity shops, too.

Oh Eric - I'm with you - sensible precautions against things that may go bump in the night, are always worth taking. JantheFan x p.s. church of St Helen looks good - hope it has a good churchyard!
