Brixham - Memories Light The Corner Of My Mind

Mem'ries light the corners of my mind
Misty water-coloured memories of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were

While in Devon, it wouldn't have been right not to spend a little time in Brixham, a place, as you know, that holds a very special corner of our hearts .....

..... with many many happy memories of our time staying at Cockle Cottage way back in 2011.
Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? Could we?

it's also a place that Andy loved and described as heaven on earth after fishing there during countless summer visits........

Mem'ries may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget

........ where we requested donations to be made to the Brixham RNLI in his memory, as he could never walk past their little shop without putting some money in their collection box or buying a little something like a keyring or secondhand book.........

So it's the laughter we will remember
Whenever we remember the way we were
The way we were.

........... and where we finally scattered his ashes, on the beach next to the breakwater where he fished so happily in 2011.

It was emotional for Eric and Alice, bless her knew when to listen .......

......... when no say nothing, when to laugh and when to cry ...........and when to gently rub his back or hold his hand as tightly as she could muster without crushing his fingers!

But they both knew that if Andy was anywhere it would be here sat sitting on the rocks by said breakwater and that it was alright for them to make new memories, embracing Brixham anew  .......

....... mooch in the perfectly named shops, tuck into even more mahoooooosive pasties, (or fish and chips), fudge and ice cream and giggle at all the stupid little things two such good friends would find so side splittingly funny,  ..........

..... and then as they left knowing that Andy was where he loved best .......

......... had said hello to them .......... and now just wanted to get on with his fishing if they didn't mind .......

........ tight lines sir, tight lines  ..........

The way you were. Wonderful mem'ries, including special ones, of Andy, who was looking down, from above.

..."hold his hand as tightly as she could" mustard.

Cockle Cottage, with a comment from Marc. And someone else - from 2011!

Of course you had to visit brixham and create more memories whilst not forgetting the past.
