Awash With An Abundance Of Roses

Since Darrell voiced his worries over the ever fragrant Alice's wild abandon, gathering flowers along our hedgerow, she has been a tad more restrained .......

....... no mean feat as she'd fallen in love with the most beautiful rose bush on Tom the Scientist and The Lovely Laura's estate .....

....... that has the most mahoooosive blooms you have ever seen, which according to Eric, make her sigh ever so loudly whenever she stops by to admire them and smell their perfume  ......

..... so loud are those said sighs that the gentlemen who owns the house where the rose bush is, actually heard her yesterday and came out, saying that he'd been wondering where all the sighing had been coming from ........

..... and then, unbelievably, told her that she could help herself to as many of the magnificent blooms as she wanted, especially as he knew how much they would be appreciated, it would be doing him a favour, he said, as they were so heavy and so many they were just dropping.

It goes without saying that it became emotional, very emotional, with Alice indeed amply helping herself between eye dabbing and sniffing to bring home.  They are, I have to admit quite, quite glorious and certainly complement Alice's beauty and taste.

Darrell is also most impressed, already hinting at a rose petal bath, one of his long felt wants and looking up how to dry a few, heaven help me  ....... what are they both like?

What a kind gentleman. He must have realised what a wonderful person Alice is. Which is more fragrant? Alice or the roses? I suspect it is the former.

What an unbelievably kind gesture, one I’m sure Alice appreciates and Darrell if he can figure out how to dry rose petals.
