At Loooooooooong Last

Well, Darrell and I have to admit to abounding with a humungous tad of envy, because Eric and the ever fragrant Alice have finally managed to enter the portals to their very first Dollar Tree, after goodness knows how many years of jealously watching Dollar Tree hauls on youtube!

It was ........ emotional, very, very emotional, very, very, very emotional!

I don't think either of them couldn't believe they were actually there and had to keep pinching each other just in case they were caught in some sort of mutual, bizarre  shared dream.

According to Alice, Eric was almost beside himself when he found that this particular store had a price finder machine to help save all the confusion, (a bit like our own beloved Poundland's), because not everything, these days, is actually priced at a dollar!  Let's just say the little fella checked his prices to his hearts delight!

Once they'd settled, trust me, there was much oooohing and ahhing in the aisles .....

..... especially when Alice spotted the Shirley Temple 7 Up, a confection of cherry and pomegranate flavours with a crisp lemon/lime soda.  Well, it would have been rude not to avail oneself, wouldn't it? A drink so obviously made to be quaffed genteelly by the girl herself!

Eric also managed to find (among many, many other things) several large bags of the iconic Starlight Mints, as requested by Darrell for his festive bon bon dishes .........

..... because in honour and to reflect this wonderful adventure, he is planning, veraciously, (our word of the month) an Anglo American Christmas celebration chez Les Towers ......

...... which is why Eric decided to go all rash and pop a packet of real life American Stove Top (chicken flavour) stuffing in his basket for Darrell to experiment with for our Christmas dinner, as well!

I don't think this will be the only Dollar Tree they will avail themselves of during their visit by a long chalk, especially after they both said it was almost too much to take in the first time round. They need to come down to earth a little, if that's at all possible and then concentrate and carefully consider their shopping lists before making any more purchases, as this is probably their one and only bite of this particular big apple........ with so much more of the world yet to see!

Well, who needs Disneyland, when you have Dollar Tree?
