No One Told Alice Flying With Eric Would Be Easy

Oh my goodness me, from what we understand, according to the ever fragrant one, flying with Eric wasn't exactly easy, she's experienced short haul with him before, which wasn't too bad ......

..... but ten hours, looooooooooooooooooong haul, no matter how exciting the prospect of the "other side" was, how did she put it, proved "testing at times", until she finally resorted to donning her eye mask and ear plugs to feign deep slumber and simply letting Eric get on with it himself!

We believe his traditional in-flight Twix, as carefully packed by Darrell, despite being Xtra sized, vanished the second the seat belt sign was turned off ........

...... chomped while "channel hoping" BA's finest array of films, TV series, specials, podcasts, music etc., at least, Alice sighed, he was a little more occupied as he ploughed through all the new films he hasn't managed to see yet.  He was particularly engrossed in Naked Gun, but his chortling very loudly at all the jokes while wearing his own earplugs was a little disconcerting.

Meal times also offered a little respite, with a simple choice of one of two main meals, betwixt a vegetarian curry or cottage pie, afforded no prolonged musing for the little fella, cottage pie it was, accompanied by a sort of quinoa, salady type side dish (which didn't impress), a bread roll, crackers and cheese and an O-reo chocolate ganache for pudding, which he said to be delicious and claimed Alice's too!

Drinks were pretty free flowing, according to Alice, but they both held back a little as Alice was nervous of having a wee so high up in the air, as was Eric.

A small snack/hors d'oeuvre was served an hour or so before landing in the guise of a Monty's savoury pastie which also went down very well and again gave Alice a little respite from Eric's constant checking of the plane's flight path  ........

..... he was, she said, convinced at one stage that they weren't actually moving at all and it took her all her strength in order to prevent him asking one of the flight  attendants if he could "just" pop into the cockpit to double check that they were!

It was an interesting flight to say the least, with Alice saying that she'll need a really good holiday to gather the strength for the return leg, even if she really doesn't want to even think about it at the moment with such a wonderful adventure laying ahead of them ....... but, from past experience, I feel her pain!
