A Very Very Late New Years Eve Post .......

Oh my goodness, please forgive us, we've really gone totally to pot with our last festive postings of 2025, last year, (can you believe it?), especially when you consider tomorrow is, officially, the last day of Christmas, what are we like?

However, we believe we have the perfect excuse, to wit, exhaustion, going from our post Christmas Christchurch adventure, straight into a full bodied, annual New Years Sleepover with our beloved niece and nephew, as our pictures reflect!

Trust us, we never stopped for a single second, from hilarious, gigantic whoppee cushion exploits .........

....... play doh modelling .......

....... presents, traditional game playing, seasonal and beat the intro quizzes, cracker pulling, Chinese meal collecting and devouring ......

...... not to mention cocktail mixology, an emotional kazoo ensemble, pass the parcel, hide and seek, charades AND not one, but two midnight walks .......

...... one for our usual fun and games, pretending to be, this year, spooky "Labubus" and not ghosts, as every other year .......

..... a development which was even bewildering for poor old Eric.

Then, four hours later, we all went out again, wrapped in multiple layers, travel mugs of hot chocolate in hand, hearts and minds full of expectation, to see 2026 in from the middle of our park, the perfect spot to watch the fireworks from all over Evesham, for the very first time with Iris and Bertie

...... we were not disappointed, it was a display that seemed to start at around ten minutes before midnight and then continued for at least another twenty minutes after.

In that time memories were made that will hopefully stay with Iris and Bertie forever, their first time staying up way beyond their usual bedtime and a new end of year sleepover tradition created. It goes without saying that it was emotional, very, very emotional  .......... but nevertheless happy, happy, happy days, somewhat belated, but here's to a tres brilliant 2026.

What a wonderful sleepover! Plus, all of the fireworks, too!

Although, I've never seen a Labubu.
