Oh my goodness, trading our usage of (free) sun loungers and sunshade for the purchase of wonderful, traditional Greek food has been a true joy. It has freed Darrell from the preparing of lunch boxes for us all, each day and, subsequently, seriously cut down on our supermarket shopping in the evenings, allowing us more time for an extra cheeky cocktail or ice cream before retiring, it's win, win, wintastic!
In turn Krista has looked after us sooooooooooooo well, as our waistbands will no doubt attest when we get back home.
Her lamb chops are to die for, but Nigel's stand out meal, so far, has been her meatballs in blue cheese sauce .......
...... which he declared were an absolute triumph, so much so that he said he didn't want the meal to end ever. He even licked his plate clean, in full view of all the other diners, which we don't generally encourage when in public, but in foreign climes????
Then, on top of that, while we are waiting for our much considered meal to arrive, we like to gen up on and practice, phonetically, a few new, useful Greek words to add to our growing vocabulary, well, it would be rude not too.
....... again, trying some very wonderful new dishes, too many to mention and a few a little tricky to pronounce (and spell) despite Krista's guidance.
However, last night, after our evening meal and obligatory promenade, we decided to visit Krista's, this time for pudding.
Let's just say, she did not disappoint, with us opting for tradition baclava with ice cream, that had us ooooohing and ahhhhing in harmony in between noms, as it was obviously truly homemade .........
....... and then, asking for three spoons, we went for her Greek yoghurt and honey, topped with Krista's real life mum's sour cherry preserve, glyko koutaliou! Never have three sets of taste buds sung out so unfettered in complete unison! It was unbelievable, I swear Darrell had tears welling up in his eyes with every mouthful he took. What a way to end an already perfect day .......... happy, happy days!

The food sounds great, especially the tradition "BALACLAVA" with ice cream. When I was young, I wore balaclavas at the same time as I wore a liberty bodice. Now, that really shows my age. Although, the liberty bodice was particularly ancient.....
And I never never eaten a balaclava.
Dodecanese means "twelve," yet there are more than twelve islands. Hmm.
Oh my that food sounds so delish - it is making my mouth water! JantheFan x
p.s. checked out the links you posted - oh my it all looks so beautiful and romatic. JtF x
