Apart from their beloved lady Helen and the odd cheeky Uber ........
At $4.50 (£3.40) for an all day pass, to get on and off at any of the designated stops along the route, wherever and whenever the whim takes them, well, it would have been rude not to avail oneself their services, it's a no brainer!
According to Eric, nothing beats the unfettered joy and excitement when seeing said trolley coming round the corner, knowing they are off another wonderous adventure .......
...... and at this time of year, when it's not really tourist season, they generally have the said trolley pretty much to themselves, although meeting and talking to the locals who also use the trolley is a treat in itself, listening to all the gossip of every day, ordinary American type folk, while trying to blend in as the same is quite an experience.
As for the drivers, all who appear to be ladies of a certain age, Eric and Alice love them all, they are all such lovely, welcoming people, one or two are even recognising our intrepid pair and greet them enthusiastically as they get on board.
The trolleys are possibly unique with their incredibly romantic, glorious, wooden clad interiors and seats, not to mention the etched glass windows, somehow they don't seem quite real real, says Alice, they are like something that only comes out for high days and holidays like the illuminated trams in Blackpool, not every single day.
Eric, Alice informs me, has already imagined the school run on one!
As for the routes they've been travelling, going over the longest bridges they think they've ever been over .........

I think the Trolleys look like a wonderful form of transportation, I wish they had them in Englewood (Florida) where we visit family.

Excellent!
That's certainly one giant bridge! Where my older brother lives, in Seattle, they have mahoosively long, floating bridges.
Oh it's these little holiday things which we always remember. JantheFan X
