OMG, As If?

Yesterday, I noticed something for the very first time, that was printed on the carabiner fastened on our camera case, for goodness only knows how long, that had me in turn smacking my forehead with my palm in absolute disbelief  .......

........ and I quote the missive  "not for climbing"! Not for climbing?  Who, on God's green earth would even consider, for a single second, risking their life dangling from some cliff edge or clinging to a mountain face on one of our little, 79p, Home Bargains carabiners?

Not even Nigel, with all his adventuresome spirit would ever risk being suspended, anywhere on such a ineffectual article.  I sometimes fear the world has gone very slowly mad with all this health and safety malarkey!  Heaven help us all ........ "not for climbing", I ask you!

As Far Away As Close Encounters Of A Third Kind As You Can Get!

On his way back from town Nigel says he stumbled across some very odd scribblings on the pavement .....

..... but bless him, I think his imagination rather ran (as per usual) a little wild with him.....

.... As I very much doubt that these actually were, as he suggested, the urgent messages from interplanetary visitors of ancient civilisations millions and millions of miles away in space ........

..... desperately trying to make contact us earthlings, pleading for safe haven, because their planet was in imminent danger of being destroyed by other hostile, intergalactic beings!

I told him that I thought he might look a little closer to home in order to decipher these not so mysterious signs and symbols, to wit, the children who lived in the flats nearby maybe?  What on earth (????) is he like sometimes?

As If .......

There's a new film up at The Regal ........

"IF", when as the blurb says, "imaginary friends get real" ..........

It's sounds quite intriguing ........

...... but ........

...................come on, "as if", that would ever happen !!!!!!!!!

Webs Of Wonder

This morning Nigel was up bright and early to go into town to have his eyes tested, when he was greeted by a very magical sight .......

...... to wit the most beautiful spiders webs that looked as if they'd been encrusted with diamonds.

He's always loved it in the autumn when the webs are all frosty, but this was a new phenomena to him.........

....... making him, he said, come over a little bit emotional.

...... And what made it even more enchanting was the fact they seemed to follow him right into Evesham, as the same thing appeared to hang from almost every bush or hedge he walked past. But it was weird, as I said, was that he can't ever remember seeing this wonder before.

Happy days, plus a score of twenty twenty vision given by the optician, complimenting Nigel on the way he'd read all the charts with an unwavering and almost poetic aplomb and charm?????!!  What on earth is he like?  The optician, not Nigel!

Yet More Questions To Be Asked In Parliament .........

I promise, although it may look like it, we don't actually spend all our time curtain twitching Chez Towers....... mainly because we have blinds instead ......

..... but, when you have two gentleman clambering over your fence and onto the bank ....

....... partaking in, what appeared to be, a very deep discussion and taking  pictures from all angles ......

....... it would be remiss not to ask what was occurring, lest it might be of a nefarious type nature!  However, it would appear they were doing a survey of the trees, after being called in by the company who manage said bank! It would seem that the tree right in front of us has a serious fungal infection around its bottom and will probably have to go, so whoopie doo, we get some of our view back! It's a bit of a shame for Carrie and Boris our two resident squirrels and their continual frolicking, but let's be honest, we are not that short on trees round here.

Anyways, we put our own ten pennyworth in and they told us that it wouldn't hurt to contact the powers that be to raise our concerns too, especially about the sycamore (above) that is now uncomfortably inching closer and closer to our building.

So once they were gone, you've guessed it, Darrell was straight on his laptop, putting together a detailed report  ..........

....... including the erm .......what could be (not saying it is) a perfect, very private fisherman's "facility" created through management inaction, despite our reporting the state of the bank upteen times before, only to be told that nothing would be done because it was "habitat"!?????

Let's just say, if we don't get a satisfactory answer and conclusion .........

..... questions will to be asked in Parliament ......

Nigel Finds ......

It's been quite a while since Nigel has "found" anything of any note, but yesterday he found something almost right under our nose, just up the road from The Towers ......

...... to wit a "posh", better class of shopping trolley (????) from Waitrose ......

..... having travelled a distance of 0.7 miles, so well and truly out of it's usual comfort zone and having, most probably, been steered and robustly held onto, down one of Evesham's steepest hills on Swan Bank!

Nigel did try an report it (as his civic duty), with Darrell's help on "Trolleywis", but when they pressed the submit button it came back as "We are sorry, but the specified location is not supported by the chosen retailer" ??? So perhaps an email or phone call???

As and when it's no longer there, like Darrell's abandoned car,  you, as always, will be the first to know.

Limited Edition Strawberry Daim .....

With Darrell and Nigel out for the day and with nothing better to do, the fragrant Alice and I decided to try out the new limited edition strawberry Daim bars that she'd found in Home Bargains the other day, well it would be rude not to........

....... however I have to admit to being quite distracted by the new hair pieces Alice was also wearing ...........

...... which were like nothing I had ever seen before, they were quite beautiful and so quintessentially Alice!

She was a little overcome by my enthusing compliments, but said they were not  really that special, she'd found them on Temu for silly money (£1.27) and so thought she would give them a whirl, admitting that they were even better in real life than in the picture and that she might even buy a few more pairs in different colourways to match some of her other outfits.

But I digress, we had a new chocolatey comestible to review, which would also be our very our first together!

The first thing we noticed upon enrobing one of the bars was the delicate strawberry aroma it exuded, which was both alluring and tempting, which we hadn't really expected.

We think the centre might have been red or pink, but we couldn't really tell, however that didn't really matter ........

....... as it was the taste we were really interested in.

Let's just say it DID NOT disappoint!

The strawberry flavour was again as subtle as the aforementioned aroma and with the unmistakable and characteristic Daim texture, we absolutely LOVED it, awarding an instant, unequivocal and to the point 10 out of 10 on our World Famous Richter Scale of Noms. They were quite a revelation as we'd expected to come up with a bit of a mixed review.

Having said that, with three bars in the pack it took all our willpower not to eat the other two there and then, but decided to keep them for Darrell and Nigel's return .......

...... to see if they were of the same opinion as us, but to be honest we are rather hoping they are not so keen, so that we can go on to "trough" the rest!  What are we like?
