No trip to Burnham for any of us would be complete without first going to pay a visit to Winnies, our very most favouritist bakery of choice in the whole wide world ......
...... home of the jumbo eight inch of sausage, sausage roll!
And yes, Alice was suitably impressed, sooooooo several large slabs of bread pudding, said wonderous loaf, six eight inches of sausage, jumbo sausage rolls, four caramel slices, a Danish apple and custard slice ..........
...... a giant pasty (to share), two lardy slices, four "rocking" roads, four terrific tiffins and four Somerset apple and raspberry squares, one piece of whimsical white tiffin and a white Belgian chocolate monster cookie duly purchased with apologies to Mr D and his tum!
Then, heavily but very happily laden, it was back to Haven to partake of a light lunch with generous slices of their the much mentioned loaf, accompanied by a two tins of Heinz tomato soup ........
....... where Nigel noted that the fragrant Alice opened, poured and stirred to perfection. It was heaven in a bowl with much dunking, a feast indeed, but not quite as good perhaps as one of Darrell's marvellous Sunday roasts, but it was, according to Nigel, a very close second!
