Comestible Artisan Stirrings .........

It has to be said that we've all been very much missing the Daisy Chain charity shop that used to be at the end of our road, as it always heralded the first or last call of any trip into town, depending on which way round we decided to go. 

It was also where Nigel liked to have a little natter, often about the state of the river, with the manager who lived on the caravan park almost opposite us. She would hold him in thrall with tales of emergency evacuation, following an urgent bang on the door, just after, on one occasion, Sunday lunch or in the early hours of the morning, after a heavy rainfall and rapidly rising river.  It was also where we found our current, pencil type Christmas tree, offered at a discounted price after all the "quality" items we'd donated over time!

Sooooooo, there's not been a lot happening since the final farewell posters went up and the shop completely emptied until ....... ta dah, yesterday, when Nigel went past .......

........ OMG, we're only getting a real life, artisan bakery, right on the cusp of our road, perfect for picking up all manner of wonderous dough based comestibles on the way home!

And then, when Nigel got home, Darrell noticed that the local Facebook pages were buzzing with the same said news. It seems that they're also going have a whole smorgasbord of Polish cakes and other such delicacies, which is pure manna to our ears (and stomachs), as we've always been a bit shy of asking about all the fresh cakes they have up at the Europa Supermarket. So, hopefully, this will be a local shop for local people, with a personal touch. Then, it'll be questions akimbo from us and quite a few Richter Scale reviews to follow!   Oooooooooooo, happy days!
