As you know, we very much love a crisp, especially when sat sitting on the sofa for our evenings televisual viewing and we're always up to try a new flavour. So, when Darrell spotted these Walkers, Limited Edition Sausage Sarnie with Heinz Tomato Ketchup crisps in Home Bargains (99p for bag of 5), it would have been rude not to give them a cheeky nibble.
After opening up a packet and sampling them, we have to admit we are all a little on the fence with these. The first thing that hits you on chowing on down is the slightest suspicion of sausage, which is then quickly followed by the strong tang of tomato, but do they go together to please our palates, we're not so sure.
To be honest, we just love a plain, honest tomato crisp, we can take or leave the sausage, but might again just prefer it on it's own. Will we make another purchase, we don't think so and for that reason feel we can only award them a sadly lacking five out of ten sausages sizzling in a pan, on our world famous Richter Scale Of Noms.
99p for a pack of 5 is an absolute banger of a price, especially for Walkers crisps. We believe they originally sold for £2.00 or £1.60 (with your Clubcard) at Tesco, so we suspect they weren't as successful as hoped with the unusual flavoured crisp aficionados, hence HB being able to scoop them up and sell at such a discounted price.
Away from the heady and responsible world of reviewing, after some debate, we all agreed that we prefer our sausage sarnies to be elevated with brown sauce, however if this combo was replicated in crisp form we're still not sure we'd go for them either. Hey ho, upwards and onwards..........

Walkers Cheese and Onion - all days long - tried other brands but always come back to Walkers. Years ago I did like pickled onion crisps but rarely do I see that flavour these days and I haven't seen Sausage sarnie anywhere! JantheFan x
