Woo hoo hoo, it's Mexican Week at Lidl ......
We're not total strangers to the exotic and romantic cuisine, as Darrell is quite adept at serving the odd, cheeky taco, fajita and nacho, chilli and tortilla .......
....... however, having a bit of a splurge will be a wonderful way of celebrating our long friendship with the aforementioned Mr D. It must be 25 years now, since Darrell and I worked as his assistants in his Science Lab, making squeaky pop and reading Viz magazine, while the students got on with writing up their experiments with exoskeletons, in silence, as Mr D held no prisoners as far as discipline was concerned!
Chia seed pudding is however a mystery to us, so we'll be trying that, along with a bag of tortilla rolls and a burrito or two when Eric pops into Lidl for us on his way back from the school run.

Ha. I have very fond memories of Darrell and Mrs. G helping me out in the lab. and the wonderful squeaky pop drawing, which I kept for many years, until I moved to Mexico.
I once proposed to Mrs. G, in front of a class of students being taught by another teacher.....
I arrived there in 1994, when Mrs. G was just a slip of a girl.
As it happens, fajitas, chili con carne, nachos and burritos are all Tex-Mex, originating from Texas, although you can find them in Mexico, too. I like them all.
