At Last The Sea Makes An Appearance

On their last balmy evening at Burnham on Sea, Nigel, Alice, Iris and Bertie finally got to see the sea .......

........ up close and personal.

It was, they said, quite emotional and romantic in a funny sort of way, as it felt as if they were saying a fond farewell to our English summer, before starting to hunker down into the autumn and then ......... winter (shiver).

Each one lost in their memories, as they took their first and last lingering look at the sun setting on the sea, Alice of playing Bingo for the very first time and the intoxicating thrill of the Penny Falls, even if she did put all the coins that landed in her tray back into the machines, she was still going back with a cuddly dinosaur, a stretchy, pinging chicken and a couple of key rings and Nigel of Alice embracing every single new experience with gusto and hoping that it wouldn't be too long before they could do it all again.

It was all very wonderful and special, but now it was time to return back home to normality, for a little while at least  ........

...... but not until one last flutter in the arcade, followed by two large cod, a medium chips and a sausage for Bertie, sitting on the steps under the sea defence wall.  A perfect ending to a very perfect holiday .........

Another excellent day, with even more memories for Miss Iris and Master Bertie.

"It was all very wonderful and special, but now it was time to return back home to normality."

To what passes for normal in Chez Towers, at least.

I haven't had chip shop fish and chips for years. Altogether now:

I WANT FISH AND CHIPS, AND I WANT THEM NOW!!!
