Well, there I am thinking Easter was ages and ages away .......
..... when I'm greeted, first thing this morning by Darrell, noisily getting out his best frying pan announcing, with very little decorum but obvious delight "Woooo hooo hooo, come and get it, it's pancakes akimbo". I couldn't believe it, it's Pancake Day? Already??? How on earth did that happen?
And that's not all, according to Darrell we were going all exotic, "plus ca change", breaking family tradition by partaking in scotch pancakes for breakfast, instead of our usual pancake tea served with sprinkled sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice!
I'll admit, I was a little taken aback, as this was the first I'd heard of this new "way" ......
...... but Pancake Day is Pancake Day and pancakes is pancakes and I'll never ever turn down the prospect of Darrell's wonderful pancakes, Scotch or otherwise.
Although, I think Nigel is doing his very best to hedge his bets ........
....... trying to persuade Darrell that by teatime he might just have forgotten that he'd already had pancakes earlier in the day and that perhaps a petite reprise might just help refresh his memory ........ and stomach! What is he like?

I could just do with a large stack of pancakes, right now. Unfortunately, Golden Syrup is outrageously expensive, on Amazon, in Mexico. And that, for me, is obligatory, for pancakes. Along with lemon juice, of course.
