Nigel Comes Gud - First Find Of The Season.

It's seems as if it's been a long time coming, but much to Nigel and the little ones delight, it's finally the season for people to put things outside their houses for others to take, along the school run ........

....... and said season seems to have started extremely well, with a whole cacophony of furniture laid out for their perusal, in front of a house, with a skip.

So tempting in fact, that as they were stood standing, perusing the array of delights  a car drove past, reversed and before you could say "hmmmmm", a rather battered, wooden chest was swiftly bundled into its boot!

Little Miss Iris was very taken by a desk, but as she's got a perfectly good one in her room already, Nigel had to use all his powers of diplomacy to suggest that perhaps The Lovely Laura and Tom the Scientist might be not as welcoming to its presence, no matter how ethical or sustainable she pleaded her case, bless her little cotton socks!

Nigel, himself, was equally taken by a small set of drawers, in excellent condition and although he initially decided to leave it behind, along with the desk, it continued to beckon him until he finally relented, calling Darrell and I with a description, asking, sight unseen, whether it might be of some use.

The rest is erm ..... history, it was still there upon his returned, so he wrestled it home and I have to say, both Darrell and I were very impressed, as (for the moment) it fits quite nicely beside our computer desk (£3 from an Evesham charity shop) and will be very useful for keeping all our bits and pieces of a desk type nature in.

At the moment it doesn't really suit Darrell's decorative ideal, however he's got some very posh decoupage papers from his very most favourite "creative" and perhaps now might be the perfect time to try them out. He's also "thinking" a touch of turquoise might help link it to the desk. So, I'm just leaving him to it, but will be on hand with a plentiful supply of hot, sweet tea as he channels his muse and artistic tendencies.  On this occassion, Nigel's innate skill for foraging dun gud, very gud, very, very gud!
